On Site: World Alzheimer's Day Children's Program

Registration Open

Join Jeanne Kessler, CNA Educator & Simulation RN of Hartford Healthcare Senior Services to participate in age-appropriate education for children to learn about Alzheimer?s disease. Today in the U.S., there are nearly 7 million Americans living with Alzheimer?s disease. In addition, over 11 million Americans are providing care for people living with this disease. Children will gain an understanding of the changes the disease may bring about in a grandparent, enabling children to experience growth and personal satisfaction in maintaining a close relationship with their grandparent living with dementia. There are two session. The morning session is for children ages 5-12 which will include story time and learning activities, as well as a fun activity with our wonderful residents who live in memory care. The afternoon session is for youth ages 13-17 that will include hands on learning activities and a very special time of intergenerational activities with our residents who live in memory care. For questions and to RSVP, call Jeanne Kessler at 860.376.1251.

Morning session for children ages 5-12: 10-11am at The Gardens at Arbor Rose, Afternoon session for teens ages 13-17: 1-2:30pm at The Pavilion at Arbor Rose.
