U.S. News & World Report Names Hartford Hospital Best in Region

Hartford Hospital has again been rated as the No. 1 hospital in the Hartford Metro Area and among the best hospitals in Connecticut for 2023-24 by U.S. News & World Report.
In addition, Hartford Hospital was rated as “high performing” in the following procedures and conditions:
- Orthopedics
- Abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
- Aortic valve surgery
- Colon cancer surgery
- Diabetes
- Heart attack
- Heart bypass surgery
- Heart failure
- Hip fracture
- Hip replacement
- Kidney failure
- Knee replacement
- Lung cancer surgery
- Prostate cancer surgery
- TAVR
The rankings and ratings from U.S. News are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or for common elective procedures.
For the 2023-24 rankings and ratings, U.S. News evaluated nearly 5,000 medical centers nationwide in 15 specialties and 21 procedures and conditions. In the 15 specialty areas, 164 hospitals were ranked in at least one specialty. In rankings by state and metro area, U.S. News recognized hospitals as high performing across multiple areas of care. The U.S. News Best Hospitals methodologies in most areas of care are based largely on objective measures such as risk-adjusted survival and discharge-to-home rates, volume, and quality of nursing, among other care-related indicators.
