MidState Joins National Consortium of Breast Centers

Dr. Niamey Wilson, Director of Breast Surgery, Quality and Research for the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute, has announced that MidState Medical Center Breast Center in Meriden is now an official member of the National Consortium of Breast Centers (NCBC).

It is now actively certified as a Comprehensive Breast Center.

The NCBC is the governing body that oversees the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers. This program measures multiple quality metrics across several domains, including: surgery, medical and radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, nurse navigation, genetics and survivorship. In three years, with continued participation, the Breast Center will be certified as a Center of Excellence in breast cancer treatment.
