Concerned About an Older Loved One? Start Gathering Information at the Healthy Family FunFest!

Worried about an older parent or family member? Want to check out options for care and services?

The Healthy Family FunFest is a great place to begin gathering the information you need, and to learn about local health resources for your beloved family member.

Begin with a visit to the booth for the Hartford HealthCare Center for Healthy Aging. Staff there will be sharing information about its in-home assessment services and programs that allow older adults and caregivers to live life to the fullest.

Questions about assisted living or memory care communities? Behavioral health or home health care? They’ll be there, too!

There’ll also be health screenings – many are free, including those for:

• Blood pressure
• Glucose (blood sugar)
• Vision (include glaucoma)
• Balance
• Memory

 

Health professionals will also be on hand providing brain fitness challenges, geriatric medicine information, and diet and exercise ideas. Even the kids will have fun in the vast kids’s areas.

Best of all, admission to the event is free. Come early and bring the family.
